County News
It has been my pleasure to serve the citizens of Oxford and Lafayette County as the Building and American Disabilities Act (ADA) Inspector. I enforce both the International Code Council (ICC) and state of Mississippi standards establishing the provisions to protect public health, safety and welfare. These regulations are directed towards the public and private sector, commercial and residential properties.
I have concurrently worked as a certified Water Operator for East Oxford, Hopewell and Yocona Water Associations for 12 years. I am guided by both the MSDH’s Bureau of Public Water Supply and the Federal and State Safe Drinking Water Acts (SDWA). In both roles, I have gone above and beyond obtaining numerous certifications and participating in annual continuing education. I am the candidate backed by both solid academic and professional work experiences.
As the Southern District Justice Court Judge, I will continue in a critical impact area for the Lafayette, Oxford and the University (LOU) Communities. I am a lifelong learner who will enroll in the Mississippi Judicial College for mandated and additional training offered at The University of Mississippi. I am unwavering in my priorities of faith, family and community. I will anticipate the challenges of our small and ever growing town.
The Lafayette County Justice System, also known as the people’s court, will be grounded in compassion and common sense solutions. I face your exact circumstances unsheltered from root issues such as addiction, health, mental health, or the rising cost of living. Many of the people or problems seen in Justice Court need support resources. I want to be able to rehabilitate loved ones and balance zero tolerance against threats to the lives and safety of our families.
Elect me, Michael K. Brown, who will constitute fairness for every sex, race, color or creed no matter social status. Let me work for you to afford every generation a future confident in equality and justice for all. God bless!
