911 Dispatch
The Lafayette County Emergency E-911 is the Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP), or a call center, for all emergency calls made in Lafayette County, including the City of Oxford and the University of Mississippi. Lafayette E-911 is directly responsible for the dispatch operations of the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office, the Oxford Fire Department, the Lafayette County Fire Department, the Baptist-Oxford Emergency Medical Service and the Lafayette County Emergency Medical Service.
911 Etiquette
911 is for emergency situations only. If you have a non-emergency situation call (662) 234-6421. When calling 911 in an emergency situation, please remain calm and be prepared to answer the following questions:
- Where is the exact location of your emergency?
- Does your emergency require police, fire or ambulance?
- What is your name and call back number?
- What is the name(s)/description of any people/vehicle(s) involved?
