Lafayette County Deputy Fire Coordinator

This is a full-time deputy Fire Coordinator.  The deputy will serve under the general direction of the Fire Coordinator. This position will conduct inspections to ensure compliance with fire and building codes, develop, implement and conduct fire and life safety education programs for youth and adults, etc.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

*High School diploma or GED
*Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college is preferred.
*NFPA 1001 I-II
* Must possess a valid driver’s license
*Complete background check.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY

Knowledge of standard fire, building and mechanical codes is required.  Knowledge of public relations techniques, fire safety rules and regulations, basic fire science principles, etc. are desired.

Lafayette County Part-Time Deputy Emergency Management Director/Coordinator

This is a part-time deputy in the Emergency Management Department.  The deputy will serve under the general direction of the Emergency Management Director/Coordinator.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

*Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or related work experience in a field associated with Emergency Management.
* Must possess a valid driver’s license
*Complete background check.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY

Ability to effectively communicate with others; exercise judgement in evaluation situations and making rational decisions under extreme pressure.  Must have the ability to work with the public and other staff. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
