- Requirements:
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Planning. AICP certification preferred.
- Must be knowledgeable of County ordinances, including the Zoning Ordinance, Comprehensive Plan and Subdivision Regulations, ability to provide technical assistance, review plans and zoning permit applications, research and compile information on planning issues, attend public meetings, oversee the GIS system, and prepare narrative staff reports including recommendations on development proposals.

♦ Maintenance Worker
Reports To: Maintenance Supervisor
- Role: Perform general maintenance and repair for County office buildings, court buildings, and the public library.
- Key Duties:

Building, machine, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and painting repairs.

Assist with procuring janitorial and maintenance supplies.

Distribute and set up voting machines.

- Requirements:

High school diploma/GED or equivalent 12 years experience.

HVAC certification.

Skills in electrical, HVAC, carpentry; courteous with staff/public.

- Physical/Work Conditions:

Lift up to ~100 lbs.

Mostly indoor work, some outdoor.

Uses a variety of tools/equipment.

Selection includes application review, interview, background check, and tests.

♦ Lafayette County Veteran Service Officer
This is a part-time position. The CVSO will serve under the general direction of the County Administrator.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- *Veteran, surviving spouse or child of veteran
- Must possess a valid driver’s license
- *Complete background check.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY
- Advocacy and communication skills.
- Must have proficient computer skills and system knowledge for claim filing.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
