Lafayette County Completes New Business Complex

OXFORD, Miss. – Lafayette County has completed construction on the Lafayette County Business Complex, located at 72 F.D. “Buddy” East Parkway.

Now, several departments are able to serve the public from just one complex. The Lafayette County Justice Court, the Oxford Municipal Court, Child Protective Services, Department of Human Services, the Lafayette County Health Department and the Driver’s License Office have all moved to this complex. Some of these departments had outgrown their current space, and others were going to lose their building due to the expansion of Highway 7 South.

Lafayette County partnered with the city to create the joint courthouse. The courthouse in the complex houses both the Lafayette County Justice Court and the Oxford Municipal Court. The city provided the funds for their portion of the courthouse.

The complex is directly across from the site of new Lafayette County Elementary off of County Road 406. The large, landscaped courtyards provide visitors and staff with outdoor seating areas.

Each department has a dedicated entrance facing the main courtyard, making navigation around the complex simple. With construction complete, all departments have moved in and begun operating in the new location.
