📢 Lafayette County Government Closure Notice
Due to ongoing power outages to county buildings and hazardous road conditions caused by the ice storm affecting northern Mississippi, all Lafayette County government buildings will be closed on Tuesday, January 27, 2026. Travel conditions remain dangerous with ice on roads and bridges and many residents are still without electricity as crews continue response efforts.
Today’s Planning Commission meeting has been postponed until February.
We will provide an update on the status of operations for Wednesday, January 28, 2026, on Tuesday as conditions evolve.
