Lafayette County Government Closure Notice January 25, 2026

Due to hazardous road conditions and widespread power outages caused by the ongoing ice storm affecting northern Mississippi, all Lafayette County government buildings will be closed on Monday, January 26th, 2026.

Travel conditions remain dangerous with ice on roads and bridges and many residents without electricity as crews continue response efforts.

We will provide an update on the status of operations for Tuesday, January 27th, 2026, on Monday as conditions evolve.
