Chancery Clerk

The Chancery Clerk assists in the functions of the Chancellors and Chancery Court, assists the Board of Supervisors and plays a vital role in many county affairs. The Chancery Clerk serves as clerk of the court, the custodian of all Chancery Court records and public land records, clerk of the Board of Supervisors, county auditor and county treasurer. The Chancery Clerk also oversees land redemption and serves as the local Passport Accepting Agent.


Effective June 19, 2023: the Chancery Clerk’s office will go live with MEC only for filing Court documents. This means that the clerk’s office will open your court case and file your documents in MEC. MEC has set July 3rd as the go live date for attorneys to file their pleadings themselves on MEC. Attorneys will continue to bring their Civil Cover Sheet , Complaint or Petition, Oath, Letters and Bonds to us for filing and docketing. All Orders will be filed by the Clerk’s office as well. Any other documents, the attorney will file himself/herself through MEC. We will be glad to assist you with filings until you have had time to train and file the documents yourself. Attorneys and their staff need to go to the MEC website and sign up for training through MEC. If you have any questions, please feel free to call our office at 662-234-2131.

Delta Computer Systems will no longer be used for Court documents only. All land records will continue to be filed through Delta.

Effective May 23, 2023: the Chancery Clerk accepts debit and credit cards. Personal Checks are no longer accepted.
